Auditions for Local and International Talent begin March 9, 2015
In the spirit of celebrating creativity and world-class entertainment, Broadway director and Broward resident Neil Goldberg, founder of the internationally-renowned Cirque Dreams entertainment brand and production company, is donating his talent and theatrical expertise to Broward 100 – Celebrating the Art of Community.
Goldberg, with the resources of his production company based in Pompano Beach, has agreed to direct and produce the theatrical performance part of Duende, the culminating event of Broward County’s year-long centennial celebration. In concert with other Broward 100 performances, events and family-friendly activities, this unprecedented, Broadway-style stage spectacle will be presented on October 2nd and 3rd, 2015 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Goldberg’s engagement marks a pivotal point in the evolution of “Duende,” a concept developed by the “Creative Minds” team of Broward 100. “Neil Goldberg brings the highest level of creativity and production in showcasing and celebrating the unique talent of Broward County. We are honored to have Neil leading the inauguration of this annual signature event,” said Tim Ryan, Mayor of Broward County.
“I’m excited to produce a show that engages the ordinary, extraordinary, unique and unexpected wealth of community resources,” said Goldberg. Over the next several months, he will spearhead the search and development of local and international talent in the performing and visual arts to combine with celebrity artists in a one-of-a-kind performance and entertainment production that will perform to audiences on stage at Broward Center’s Au-Rene Theater.
Auditions will be held Monday, March 9 through Wednesday, March 18, by appointment, at Dream Studios, 1985 NW 18th Street, Pompano Beach, Florida, 33069. To set an audition appointment, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The artistic search and casting call is open to all creative disciplines including theater and dance companies, opera, symphony, bands, choirs, street performers, poets, artists, specialty acts, singers, dancers (ballet, hip-hop, ballroom, tap, jazz, contemporary, etc. ), performance troupes, musicians, actors, audio/visual, visual artists, technology advancements and every other creative talent. Auditions are open to performers, artists and dreamers of all ages. More than 20 disciplines will be selected to compose this premier theatrical event.
Each South Florida participant, entity or organization cast in the show will receive local and national recognition, perform on stage with celebrity talent and have their skills showcased and directed in a high-caliber world-class production. Additionally, artists will be compensated, along with the opportunity to receive a $10,000 enrichment gift sponsored by the Neil Goldberg Dream Foundation, voted by the audience during the live performances.
